GameStop Gets Onboard With Mobile Gaming, Gets Own Tablet

While GameStop hasn’t created their own tablet, they have found one to match their needs to move into mobile gaming. With the buzz around tablets and smartphone gaming, it’s hard to imagine them not wanting to.

Right now the tablet is in testing phase and should become a “GameStop certified gaming platform”. GameStop hasn’t yet revealed who the manufacturer or developer is. All that is known is the gaming tablet will run on Android, have pre-installed games, and have the ability to stream games.

GameStop has recently started an iOS device trade-in program for customers to get cash for their iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad. So this means they will be selling iOS devices as well. Or is this a way to get their hands on more mobile devices to launch their own iOS gaming service?
