Many of us always try to find a deal or a way to get paid premium Android apps for free. Whether that be in the Android Market, the Amazon App Store, or illegally. GetJar has now come out of beta and is publicly launching its service today.
GetJar Gold is similar to Amazon’s App Store, but in the sense that they offer premium Android applications for free available at any time versus one a day.
GetJar Gold will start by featureng 50 titles including TuneIn Radio Pro, Solo, Fruit Ninja THD, Age of Zombies, and Splashtop Remote Desktop. The values of these combined are around $60. According to GetJar CEO Ilja Laurs, new apps will be added daily.
Only paid applications without ads are considered for this new store and uses a different model than those of Apple, Google, or Amazon. GetJar pays the developers for their applications on a per install basis, a new approach other than the typical 70⁄30 developer/app store split.
To have sponsored apps listed, developers bid on how much the are willing to pay per install using a model similar to Google Adsense. They can be as low as 1 cent or as high as $1.50 to $2.00 per user. You get a higher ranking in the GetJar Gold search results the higher the bid.
