Best Buy Offers $99 HTC Flyer Tablet, Won’t Honor Price

As of yesterday, you would find the 8.9″ HTC Flyer Tablet available for $99 on Best Buy’s website. If you looked today, you would still find the $99 price tag but sold out online and still available in stores.

The good: If you ordered the HTC Flyer last night for $99 online, it will be honored.

The bad: If  you go into your local Best Buy store as we did at 14125 River Gate Pkwy Charlotte, NC 28273, you will soon find that they will not sell you one for the slashed price and still offer it for $299. This tablet is not worth $299 for what you get. Of course we got there before they opened to have a sure shot, along with the rest of the line formed behind. It seems BestBuy made a pricing error and covered themselves by posting a small paper sign on the window. Mind you, this paper was not on the outside of the store, but only seen once you entered into the doors after waiting in a line for 30 minutes.

BestBuy scams customers with HTC Flyer price drop

Beside of this sign was a message stating that the prices would be changed online by 1 PM Eastern Time. I’m sorry, but this seems like bad practice to me. Good, as far as getting customers to your store, but it puts a sour taste in their mouth for your business.

Of course we said our two cents about the issue to no avail and turned right around. They aren’t getting any more business from me after that, at least for today.
