There’s a security flaw in iOS 5 which will probably get patched pretty soon. It allows anyone with a magnet or Smart Cover to bypass the iPad 2’s locked passcode and access whatever app was left open previously.
How To:
- Hold down the power button until the slider appears across the top
- Close the iPad 2’s Smart Cover or swing a magnet over the magnetic points around the screen rim, then remove the cover or magnet
- Click cancel at the bottom of the lock screen
Prevent Bypass:
Disable the Smart Cover unlocking feature in Settings->General
