Siri Port On iPhone 4, iPod, iPad Unlikely Available To Public

Siri Port Not Publicly available

[]1Everyone knows that Siri was released specifically for the iPhone 4S. Despite what Apple said, Siri has been ported to the iPhone 4, iPod Touch, and the iPad by developers. We have even seen videos showing the proof, so when will it be made available to the public for download?

The answer is, it likely will not. There are two reasons as to why, one being legal reasons and the other is a technical reason.

Apple Inc. developed all software and data used inside an iOS device and own the copyrights to them. This means that the software and data can’t be modified and distributed without legal consent from Apple. Siri is software and data within the iPhone 4S so developers don’t have legal rights to distribute modified versions of Siri to the public.

Technically, to get Siri ported over to the iPhone 4, iPod Touch, or the iPad one must have access to a jailbroken iPhone 4S. A validation token must be taken from the jailbroken iPhone 4S to be used on the other iOS devices in order for the ported Siri to send data to Apple’s servers and get a response. More than likely, you won’t use a friend’s iPhone 4S to accomplish this and if you already have the 4S, you already have Siri.
