Nexus Prime and Ice Cream Sandwich announcement

Samsung is officially holding an event on October 11th called UNPACKED 2011: Google Episode where they are to announce new hardware and software. The event will take place in San Diego, California at 11:30 Pacific Time. Enthusiasts should expect big announcements about Ice Cream Sandwich and the Nexus Prime.

The Nexus Prime has been given many names throughout the many reports that we’ve heard including Droid Prime. While the name is not that important, the specs about the hardware and software is what we seek. The Android phone is expected to have a dual core 1.5GHz chip, a 720p Super AMOLED HD display, 1 GB of RAM and an 8 or higher megapixel camera. You can also expect its software to be based on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Google and Samsung are expected to speak of the features and formal release information of Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) at this event. While there is still much unknown about the new Android OS, it will be the best Android release to date and work on smartphones and tablets.
