There are reported rumors that Apple briefly let staff members trial a test build of iOS 5 for the iPhone 4 with Siri integrated. The trial run supposedly went well.
There isn’t any question that the iPhone 4, 4th generation iPod Touch, and iPad are capable of running Siri as several developers have ran Siri on other idevices. The question is, will Apple sacrifice the iPhone 4S selling point by allowing Siri on other devices? After all, the best selling point of the 4S to most consumers is Siri, not the better camera or faster processor.
Since Siri is still technically in “beta”, Apple of course wants to keep the load on their servers to a minimal. This could be another reason Siri isn’t available for other idevices but once out of “beta”, could we find Siri on the iPhone 4? Only time will tell.
