Comex, famous for creating the original browser-based iOS jailbreak has done it again. He followed up on a recent tweet confirming that his upcoming jailbreak will work with all iOS devices running versions up to iOS 4.3.3.
Comex has been active on Twitter, even though the new jailbreak isn’t live or given an expected release date. Here’s a response by Comex to a fan’s question about JailBreakMe’s support for iPad 2:
@comex can u maybe alert everyone as to which iOS version this upcoming release will work on?? (ipad 2 btw) currently mines on 4.3.1….
To which Comex replied:

This confirms that the new jailbreak will indeed work with the iPad 2, as well as being compatible with versions of the iOS firmware ranging from 4.2.1 to 4.3.3. So will it work with iOS5? Comex hasn’t given any indication that it will, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it did and he just doesn’t want to put the word out too early. I’d expect the jailbreak to work with iOS 5, but the truth of the matter remains to be seen.
We won’t know the details on everything until JailBreakMe 3.0 goes live, so until then, we’re all just going to have to be patient and wait this out.
