Android 6.0 To Be Named Key Lime Pie

While the public release of Android 5.0 Jellybean won’t be available until quarter four of 2012, it seems that Google has already made naming plans for Android 6.0.

Google has adopted a naming convention for each of its Android OS version being named after desserts and in alphabetical order. The list consists of Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, and the soon to be released Jelly Bean. Now that we are at “K”, that brings us to the said Key Lime Pie.

If sources are correct as they have been before, this is what our Android 6.0 OS will be called. It doesn’t seem far fetched as Ice Cream Sandwich was also dubbed ICS, I can see Key Lime Pie referred to as KLP.

Since ICS was released at the end of 2011 and Jelly Bean supposedly available this fall, Key Lime Pie could be seen in late 2013. However this is speculation and as of now is anyone’s guess.
